End of a great term 3
As we approach the end of a very busy term 3, I would like to acknowledge the tremendous work achieved throughout our school. Recently, teachers have been assessing the student’s knowledge of the units covered this term as part of the teaching and assessment cycle. At Bowen State School we will be scheduling an opportunity to share those learning outcomes at the term 4 Parent Teacher meetings. (Please see the email sent regarding booking your child’s appointment) This event will be held in Week 2, the 10th of October.
Students have been enjoying all the learning this week right up to the last day. It has been wonderful to be in the classrooms and see the engagement from the students and the calm and focussed teaching and learning. I appreciate that our teachers have commenced unpacking the term 4 English and Maths units and have started looking at the key skills and knowledge required with students.
School holiday security
A reminder to families to support our school by reporting any unusual activity around the school grounds. We know active monitoring collectively supports a community response to senseless vandalism and damage to our beautiful school. Please use the school watch number to report suspicious behaviour or call 000 if a crime is happening and witnessed in person.
Have you enrolled your prep child at Bowen State School for 2024?
As we approach our term 4 transition events, it is important that families monitor the activities to support students coming to Bowen State School in 2024. This includes prep enrolment interviews, practicing for prep, kindy visits and step-up visit. Check out our school Facebook page for all the transition details.
In closure I wish all families, staff and students a restful September holiday period and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the excitement of term 4.

In 2M we have been working hard and learning about 2D shapes and 3D objects. For 2D shapes, we have been identifying the number of corners, square corners and sides, and if they are closed or open shapes. With our 3D objects we have been identifying the number of faces, edges and corners.
We have been loving experimenting with geoboards and making shapes using rubber bands.
In 2/3R we have been learning about measurement. Last week we put our measuring skills to the test and made some delicious pancakes. 2/3R had a blast and made sure to follow the recipe to the exact measurement.

As part of our reward for making our HASS posters. Students got to make ice cream sundaes. There were smiles all round.
