Principal's Post
End of a Productive Term
As we close the final days of a very busy and productive term one, I would like to acknowledge the collective efforts of staff, students and families to collective support our goal this year, that “all students reach their full potential in English”. The significant investment within the teaching and learning in Term 1 has been around teachers being provided the resources and time to gain clarity of the new Version 9 Australian Curriculum.
We have ensured the knowledge was then transferred to the students through the use of the 5 questions for students, understanding of the learning intention and success criteria and use of the learning walls in the classroom. We will be collating term one data to map our impact and look forward to sharing the next steps at the upcoming parent teacher interviews early on Term 2.
Next term we will continue to see the great learning through the “Leadership Walks” in classrooms every fortnight and celebrate that twice a term teacher with leaders will be released to see great practice in other classes and reflected on what they saw, heard and wonder. This positive opportunity will allow teachers to see the great work happening and gain ideas and confirm that we are all driving great practice at our school.
I'd like to wish all our families, staff and students a safe and well earnt restful break to spend quality time our beautiful area. For those traveling away, stay safe and I look forward to everyone’s return to an action-packed Term 2. Please keep your eye out for information regarding: Playgroup, ANZAC Services, upcoming cultural, learning enrichment and sporting events early next term. This information will be posted on the school sign and within the school Facebook page.
