Message from the Minister of Education

Happy P&C Day to all 1,258 P&C Associations, School Councils and every single one of the 43,588 P&C regular volunteers supporting local P&Cs in state schools throughout Queensland. 

Your work means so much for our school staff, students and the broader community.

You are at the heart of our school communities working hard to give every child every chance in both education and life. You are supporting schools across the state, through your fundraising and your services to students and families through our tuckshops, uniform shops, sporting and other clubs, and outside school hours care.

As the voice of parents across the state school system, you play such a vital role in shaping the learning environment of our kids.

Not only do you do a wonderful job in supporting your own schools, but you have also told me you want to able to assist your neighbouring schools when disasters or hard times strike. That’s why we are progressing changes to allow you to donate to other P&Cs to help your wider school community. We are also making changes for those schools that have multiple campuses by reducing red tape to make life easier.

I want to thank each and every one of you for the time and effort you are dedicating to supporting our schools to always be the best they can be.
