This term, in Science, 3/4J are looking at soil, rocks and landscapes. This week we collected soil samples from the Gregory Street oval and compared them. We noticed that some of the samples contained more small rocks, leaf litter and small twigs. No two samples from the oval had exactly the same soil makeup . 

3/4J also discovered that it takes over 100 years to create just 5mm of new soil on Earth and that the oldest soil ever discovered was in South Africa and it was over 3 billion years old!
