Great leadership

Last week Mrs Cremona travelled to Brisbane to accept a 2024 Showcase excellence award in the Starting Strong (P-2) category. Mrs Cremona and her colleagues from her previous community in Mount Isa were commended for their work within the Mount Isa cluster. The team of Principals and Leaders were acknowledged for the tremendous work around reading across the community and growth of students from the project. We are lucky to have the skills and knowledge that Mrs Cremona brings to our school, her previous experiences and has now been recognised across State Schooling Queensland for her contributions. We congratulate Mrs Cremona on her achievement to receive this prestigious award.

End of an Amazing Term

We reflect on another highly successful term with many engaging and varied activities. Students have thoroughly enjoyed the persuasive English unit and the alignment across the year levels has created a great collaborative culture. The presentations of some students were recently celebrated at cluster moderation with Queens Beach State School. We have been highly engaged in sporting and cultural events including the first Indigenous Youth Parliament day in Townsville. Over the last two weeks teachers have been highly engaged in planning of the term 4 English and Maths unit.

Our school financial invests in a whole day of planning for our teachers and sessions run by the Head of Curriculum and other school leaders. As leaders we know and understand this support is a massive work load reduction and allows the teachers clarity to best deliver the curriculum to our students here at Bowen State.

Can I thank Staff for your efforts this term in supporting our students and ensuring all our students are moving forward in their learning. Looking forward to hearing all the wonderful stories about what happened over the September holidays. See everyone again for the start of a great Term 4.
