We are preparing for the Mid Year Concert for all the local schools at the moment. Beginners are working on ‘Power Rock’ and some smaller songs like Ozzie Mozzie. The senior band is working on several pieces. All students should be attending on Friday night. While the beginners are probably worried about their first performance and whether they can play their part or not they need to come – even if they can only play 3 notes – we need those three notes. Students shouldn’t be scared of performing – we will have plenty of senior students with us to help out, our beginner trombones and trumpet players will be playing a special piece of their own… Our bands will mix with other local bands for the concert. This year’s mid year concert will go for less time than in past years as we have cut down the amount of groups etc. Students should be at the High School Hall (McKenna) at about 5:15-5:30 to help set up and organise as there will be many students attending. If you can’t get there by 5:15 then just come as soon as you can. We will start at 6pm and be finished by 8pm at the latest.

The main idea is to enjoy the performance and not be worried!
