NAIDOC Day 2019
Last Friday our whole school celebrated NAIDOC day at Bowen State School. Students participated in many different activities some based around the theme of NAIDOC ‘VOICE, TREATY, TRUTH’. The students had the opportunity to taste kangaroo meat and speak with some Indigenous workers from North Queensland Bulk Ports. They taught them about the right time and season you should eat kangaroo and how you can cook it. I would also like to congratulate 3A and 5A for winning the Bowen State School ‘VOICE, TREATY, TRUTH’ Australian art competition. This Friday afternoon they will have a class party for their hard work well done 3A and 5A.
I would like to thank all the local organisations and people for their time, support and providing us with all that we need to run our Bowen State School NAIDOC day without them our NAIDOC Day wouldn't of be as great as it was.
Thank You,
Rainer Power
