Year 6 Camp
This week many of our Year Six students attended camp at Kinchant Dam Outdoor Education Centre (KOEC). The theme of camp was 'Resillience'. Students participated in activities that required perseverance, optimism, adaptability, support and self-control. The tasks promoted teamwork and provided the opportunity for students to demonstrate leadership. Our students participated enthusiastically in the challenging program that included low-ropes, high-ropes, giant swing and kayaking. Lead by KOEC staff, students also took part in a range of games and team challenges that required them to communicate, plan and adapt. On the final night all campers enjoyed a bonfire sing-along, complete with toasted marshmallows and s'mores. Goals were achieved, friendships were formed, and leaders were born over the course of the three days. Our students represented Bowen State School to a very high standard and are to be commended for the way they banded together and tackled their fears. A big thanks to our dedicated teacher aides and parent helpers who were a great help in ensuring the smooth running of our campsite. Thanks go to all involved who helped to make the camp such a successful growth experience for all who attended.
