Hello Families,

What a great start to 2019 we have had at Bowen State School. I am excited for term 1 as I will be running lots of programs for students. Last week I kicked off after school boys program for year 6 boys and had a great turn out. This term in boys group we are looking at the concept of ‘Sharpening one another’. We discussed what this meant and how it would look. The boys shared their thoughts such as; encouraging each other, building positive relationships, looking out for each other, pushing each other to do better and many more. Last week was the launch of a brand new program called ALIVE. This is a mentoring program where students connect with positive role models in the community through different activities. Rainer Power and I are very excited to be able to run this program and look forward to the impact it will have on young people.
