Hi everyone, I am really excited to be teaching at Bowen State School. I am from New Zealand and have taught a variety of age groups, with the majority of my time being spent in the senior school. I enjoy a range of sport and am a big supporter of the All Blacks and the Warriors! I am looking forward to meeting you all, please feel free to come in and say hi.
Emma Daley - 2A
Hello, My name is Emma Daley and I am currently teaching three days a week in 2A. I began teaching at Bowen State School in 2012 after spending a few years teaching in a high school. I have had the last three years off work on maternity leave and extended leave to spend time with my young family but am excited to be back at school teaching.
Sally Hannemann
Hola, Soy senora Hannemann
I am excited to be a part of the team at BSS, teaching Spanish to the 5’s and 6’s. I lived in Chile whilst completing my undergraduate degree majoring in Spanish and International Relations. When I returned to Australia I secured a position with the Spanish Commercial Office in Sydney where I was employed as a trade consultant. Learning Spanish gave me the opportunity to travel extensively , meet new people and gain a great understanding of our world and all the exciting people and cultures within. Now with a Master of Teaching under my belt I am able to share my love of Spanish, an exciting language spoken in over 20 countries around the world. The children will enjoy the benefits of not only learning a language but also being immersed in Spanish culture, music, dance, food and celebrations.
Hasta la vista
Matilta Cooper
Hello Bowen State School students and families,
My name is Miss Matilda Cooper and I will be working at Bowen State School throughout the year as a relief teacher. I am originally from Newcastle in NSW where I graduated with a Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts from the University of Newcastle in 2016. In Newcastle, I taught Kindergarten (Prep) for 2 years and loved teaching students in their first year of ‘Big School’, learning to read, write, count, sing, play and have fun!
I am passionate about the performing arts; singing, dancing and acting. Last year I co-directed ‘Seussical the Musical Jr’ at my school where the students got to showcase their creative art talents. I am looking forward to getting to know the students, staff and school community better during my time at Bowen State School and I am especially looking forward to teaching 5A for 2 weeks later this term.
Hope to see you around,
Miss Cooper
