Prep transition

As the year progresses we are looking at ways to ensure all our families here at Bowen State have a smooth transition to prep in 2022. We believe the transition is for the whole family and the careful considerations around this belief are embedded into our 2021 transition program. This term we will be holding a Saturday prep open morning so families can enjoy our school campus in a relaxed casual environment. The date for this is week 9 Saturday the 19^th June. Information regarding our transition for the year will be sent out with the youngest in the family, flier drop off to all the local kindies, added to our Facebook page and fortnightly newsletter. We are looking forward to the smoothest transition for your child and a great start to Prep. School Fete

Huge thank you to all the families that attended our second fete meeting this term. We are working hard to create a fun, family focused event for our community. This activity will also be one of our biggest fundraisers for the year. Information will be communicated regularly regarding this event. Teachers are currently looking for parent helpers and volunteers on the day. Please contact your child’s teacher if you can assist. Save the date Saturday 14^th August. Week 5 Term 3.

Allan Parker Twilight

This year our school and other cluster schools have been engaging with a guest speaker Allan Parker. Allan is a Behavioural Scientist and has been working with staff around considered conversations and awareness of self and others. The workshops are supporting staff with the complexity of our role and the conversations we engage in our day to day tasks. The feedback from staff has been extremely positive so far and this term. Our school has the added bonus of a Schools out to community program Twilight Session. We welcome all our families to a twilight workshop for families and the wider community presented by Allan. This will be held in the library next Wednesday evening the 2^nd June from 5:30pm -7:30pm. The flier being circulated outlines the topics included:
