Go update - PCYC Re Engagement Program (PREP)

Bowen State School in collaboration with PCYC Bowen have written a program to support students to development leadership skills in alternative learning environments to foster and increase in engagement and successful outcomes at school.  PREP is about connecting with the community, being pushed out of your comfort zone to develop lifelong skills such as:

• Self control
• Positive self talk
• Taking orders from a range of adults
• Empathy
• Resilience
• Courage

Whilst the program uses fun physical activities they are also confronting and put the team under pressure to practice displaying skills they are focusing on.  The group of boys finished the program off strong and all displayed the skills above.  Our Bowen State School and PCYC team are extremely proud of all of them pictured below with Community Development Officer Ms Rachel Miller and Sargent Danielle Needen Acting PCYC Branch Manager.
