ARD visit

Next week our school will host Helen McColloch the acting ARD for our school. We are looking forward to sharing our key work and evidence of the writing output from students. Helen will be visiting classrooms and talking to teachers about their marker students. Helen has worked in various schools across north and central Queensland and brings a wealth of experiences to her new role. I am proud of the great work happening here at Bowen State and excited to promote all the great output of student learning.

School Fete

Next Saturday is the Bowen State School fete. We are all very excited about the opportunity to showcase our school and all it has to offer. A reminder to families that teachers are still looking for helpers/volunteers to partake in a small shift on the day. Even help for 1 hour would be amazing.  Please contact your child’s teacher directly to organise assistance.

We will be practicing COVID safe requirements and each entrance we will require a scan in on smart phones/devices or collecting written details. Thank you to Olivia Gordon and the “fete team” for their hard work and dedication leading up to next Saturday. Staff have been very creative and working collaboratively to support this event. New faces to the team

This term we welcome some new faces to Bowen State School. Rachel Weekes will be working three days per week as a district Relief Teacher DRT. Emily Wilder will be working every Friday on a contract for the remainder of the year. Welcome to the Bowen State team and please make these staff feel welcome as you see them around our school.

Before school concerns

A gentle reminder to families that supervision for students starts at 8am. Of late we have noted students arriving to school as early as 7:15am. Our school offers a before school care service and a wonderful safe and supportive space for families who need the extra care early each day. Please contact the office for more information and details around this service. Thank you, families, for supporting us on this concerning matter.
