In Prep M we recently celebrated our 100th day of School. We spent the day exploring different ways to count 100 objects and comparing different collections of 100.
2M/G
The students in 2MG have just started to learn about arrays, making equal groups and writing a matching number sentence. In these photos the students were making an array to match the number sentence 5 x 4.
3C
This week 3C has been working hard in Maths to create a multiplication game for their assessment task. Students had to use different representations of multiplication to create their game.
4a/m
A class blog has been set up on the Education Queensland platform, Learning Place for the Year 4’s who are currently read the quest novel, Rowan of Rin by Emily Rodda. Year 4 A/M students are loving the opportunity to share their opinions about Rowan the central character and his behaviour, thoughts, actions and feelings. Blog comments also aim to explain how the author builds plot tension It is very exciting to see how engaged the students in writing and discussing their opinions of the book. They will do this four times throughout the term.

The Olympics are on everyone’s minds and television, it’s a great time to host a mini-Olympic Games at our school. Students had chosen a country to represent and has taken part in learning about their country, making flags and signs. In the afternoons year 5H has taken part in different variety of games and has been competing against the other year 5 classes as well as the year 6 students. These games allow all students to have fun and feel successful. The students have learned the most important thing in the Olympic Games is not always about winning but to take part.
