Whitsunday Regional Council - Library
Whitsunday Regional Libraries will be open throughout the summer holidays (Proserpine Library planned re-opening January 4th, 2022) and are a great place for families to relax, access resources and stay cool during the warmer months! In case you haven’t heard, the 2021 Summer Reading Club (SRC) challenge: Uncover and Discover is about to be released for libraries, and we are pleased to share this news with our local schools. We ask that you distribute this information amongst your students and families through your school libraries and newsletters.
On December 1, the Summer Reading Club will launch the members club website with a refreshed new look at summerreadingclub.slq.qld.gov.au for children and families to use in a fun and safe way. The characters might look very familiar to you as they have been designed by Brent Wilson, illustrator of the very popular Koalas Like to… title from State Library’s Stories for Little Queenslanders . The club website offers a host of online interactive challenges that will keep summer reading fun and encourage and guide children to participate with their local libraries.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information or have any questions. Happy holidays!
