Classroom Learning
PB
Prep B is excited to have the soft fall back in place. Now we can have “Fun Friday” using the obstacle course and playing outside in the sandpit or riding bikes and pushing prams.

1/2B
Year 1/2B has been very busy in Math this term. We have been measuring, counting, learning number facts and solving problems. Year 1’s have also been looking at displaying data in picture graphs. Year 2’s have also been finding out what numbers add to 20 and they have been adding strings of numbers.

4B
In 4B we have been learning about how weathering and erosion affect our environment. We have learnt about mechanical and chemical erosion as well as how we can prevent erosion from occurring or getting worse. This week we conducted an experiment where we had to build a hill using rocks, pebbles, sand and sticks and then pour water on it to model water erosion.

5B
6B
This term 6B has been working extremely hard on their writing in English. They have been reading humorous short stories by various authors and have then planned, drafted, and typed their own humorous short stories which have been bound into a class book. One of these stories has been included in the newsletter for your perusal.
Jail Break
By De Vante Watego
BOOM! As Jonah was fixing his bike, it was obliterated into a million pieces and it catapulted him through the air like a cannonball landing on his back side. Jonah screamed, “Well my plan is ruined! Now how am I going to get Papa Jo out of jail?” Jonah thought to himself, “If that explosion obliterated my bike and put me on my backside, well then what would it do to a high tech brick wall?” Jonah was sceptical but intrigued. “That’s it! I will break Papa Jo out of jail.” So Jonah began planning Papa Jo’s escape.
Rambunctiously Jonah made his way through town to find everything he needed for Papa Jo’s great escape. “This is what I need: C4 explosives for blowing a big massive sperm whale size hole in the dreadful jail, a Groucho disguise for cleverly fooling the oblivious prison guard, a bullet proof vest so I don’t get shot six thousand times, a butt pad highly soft for landing on and to protect my precious smooth cheeks, and luxurious oven mits to protect my soft and cuddly feet”. When Jonah had collected all the necessary yet weird equipment, he headed back to his secret lair AKA Mum and Dad’s house to prepare.
As Jonah moon walked suspiciously into the jail, he put his plan into action knock, knock, knock, Papa Jo. Knock, knock, knock, Papa Jo. Knock, knock, knock, Papa Jo. He repeated to
all forty-nine cells until he got to the last one, cell number fifty. That was where Papa Jo was. Jonah placed C4 into a heart shape on the high tech brick wall and strapped on his butt pad. “YEET!” Jonah yelled throwing a live C4 at the brick wall causing a massive explosion like a whale splashing into the water. As the smoke was flowing away, Papa Jo slowly wiggled out of the deep hole like a little hippopotamus coming out of a muddy pond. Jonah clicks his heels and says, “Let’s go Papa Jo”.
Back at home Jonah was getting out of the car and as he walked inside Mum said, “What on earth are you doing here?” Jonah said, “I picked up Papa Jo from jail and I might have done a teensy little bit of damage to the high tech brick wall.” “Your gammon!” replied Mum in a high pitch voice. “Sorry Mum,” Jonah replied pressing play on Sorry by Justin Bieber. “Say what?!” said Mum with one eyebrow raised. Jonah walked Papa Jo back to the house. A few moments later police cars were surrounding the house. Jonah told Papa Jo to hide but he was too slow. The police crashed in and took Papa Jo away. “Here we go again,” said Jonah.
