Eco Challenge
This week, 15 Year Six students (along with students from Merinda and Queens Beach) attended the GBRMPA Eco Challenge in Bowen. This involved students travelling to several locations around Bowen including Horseshoe Bay, Greys Bay, and Gordons Beach to meet up with Wildlife/Park Rangers, staff from the GBRMPA, and conservation specialists. Throughout the day students learned about what it means to protect and conserve the environment, how they can teach others to care for the environment, and what they can do locally to take the next step towards environmental change. The day concluded with a waste clean up at Gordons Beach where students collected 30kg of rubbish! Students were excited to take their knowledge back to school and begin planning for a cleaner future.
