In 1M this term we are learning to create a character description using words and illustrations. We have learnt that authors use nouns, adjectives and verbs to describe how a character looks, feels and acts in a story. This week we have been reading the story 'Giraffes Can't Dance' and we wrote about how Gerald looks at the start of the story. We will then compare how he changes throughout the story. I have included some of our amazing writing.

In Maths we have been looking at 2D shapes and 3D objects. We know that 2D shapes have 2 dimensions and 3D objects have 3 dimensions. We found examples of 3D objects in our classroom and compared them to models of 3D objects. Some students found some 3D objects at home and brought them in to share with us. We talked about their features - faces, sides and corners.
