Guidance Officer (GO) News
This week we celebrated Chaplaincy Week. We are thankful for the support Chappy Sandy gives our students. Chappy Sandy is often walking around our school with her deck of UNO cards and SPOT IT ready to celebrate students' hard work with a 15mins time out to have general pastoral care conversations while playing a game. Chappy Sandy can give religious support if families request it with written parent consent. Otherwise she uses her gift and expertise in the space of supporting students to be resilient, have a positive mindset and to problem solve.

PCYC Re Engagement Program (PREP): Building leadership skills via connection to the community.
This week our school team and PCYC's Ms Butler connected with Senior Sergeant Craig Shepard, Officer in Charge at the Bowen Police Station. We were lucky enough to have Senior Sergeant Shepard take the team on a full tour of the station while outlining the roles and responsibilities of all involved. We walked away thankful for the commitment to keeping our community safe and realise the police use a range of strategies before ‘locking someone up’.
