We are celebrating Child Protection week this week.  Child Protection is everyone’s business.  This week our Student Support Team [SST] made up by Wellbeing Psychologist Phoebe Rattray, Chappy Sandy Burman, Guidance Officer Danielle Upkett, Community Education Counsellor – Karenne Williams and Whitsunday Counselling Counsellor Ayla Wright are working on hands …. Students identify 5 safe people.  We will check in a talk over a whole school pancake breakfast.

At Bowen State School we partner with PCYC and community members to provide a program where students are pushed to personally learn new skills in alternate environments.  We also set group goals to achieve collaboratively.  This group of girls are becoming more mindful, having strong acceptance and forging forward as young leaders. 

Megan Mattingley, Sergeant Michelle O’Reagan, GO professional experience Sue Thompson and GO Danielle Upkett have been participating in a range of mindfulness activities, STOP, THINK … then DO.  This week we have continued our journaling and participated in acro yoga.
