Principal's Post
Did you know we are recruiting great leaders here at Bowen State School?
I wanted to share some fantastic news. I can now inform our school community that Ms Rebecca Cremona has won the temporary Deputy Principal position at Bowen State School for 2024. Rebecca is an experienced teacher who is currently a Deputy Principal within the Project 1000 regional role in Mount Isa. 11 DPs were appointed on a three-year contract and placed into the Mount Isa schools as a part of a response to the literacy gaps in the early years within that community.
Rebecca has been leading the key work in her current school with reading through the Australian Curriculum being her target project. Rebecca has worked closely alongside teachers to make the impact required and she shared many success stories in her interview.
Rebecca is currently driving the Mount Isa Early Years Network and works collaboratively across the community. She has a strength and passion for the Early Years. Rebecca is looking forward to transferring her skills and experience across to our school and the key work within our Explicit Improvement Agenda. A statement I recall Rebecca sharing with the panel was her values of trust and strong relationships with the teachers, parents and students she works with. I am looking forward to Rebecca and her family's arrival to Bowen and seeing the positive impact she will bring to our school.
I would ask the whole Bowen State School community to welcome Rebecca as you see her at the 'Meet and Greet' next year on Friday 19th Jamuary.
